The Norfolk Mead lockdown room refurbishment

The Norfolk Mead Refurbishment update: tropical palms and parrots

When lockdown hit The Norfolk Mead, James and Anna took the opportunity whilst the hotel was temporarily closed to channel their energies into making the hotel, bedrooms and grounds look better than ever for the reopening.

Now that we are back open across the Hotel, Restaurant and Treatment Rooms, we are delighted to share our new pictures of some of our refurbishment efforts.

Room refurbishments

We turned our attention to three of our popular hotel bedrooms for a new look: Deluxe rooms Sorrel and Juniper, and our attic eaves standard room Horseradish. Read on to find out about our interior inspirations!

Sorrel

Sorrel is a really popular deluxe bedroom in the centre of the main Hotel building. With loads of existing character from the original dado rail and fireplace, we took the opportunity to do something really fun, quirky and fresh … parrot wallpaper of course! When we saw the bright and vibrant print with bright greens and a repeating tropical bird motif, we had to have it for Sorrel. The amazing feature wallpaper complements the distinctive wooden headboard and wardrobe. Plum tones are accented in the plush curtains, softened by velvety grey chairs and cushions, with teal cushions on the bed helping to pull the whole look together.

Juniper

Juniper is a deluxe room accessed via its own outside courtyard, entrance and reception area, with the bedroom on the first floor – it is a great pet friendly hotel room option and for those looking for a completely private haven for their break with us. We’ve added a completely new and fresh look with vibrant palm frond wallpaper in a stunning green, which we’ve taken along the original curved wall above the bed. The wow factor wallpaper is the perfect contrast to the traditional wooden furniture and gorgeous original cast iron fireplace, finished off with quirky accessories including the fabulous pug dog lampstands!

Horseradish

Horseradish is a standard room in the eaves of the hotel on the second floor. With bags of character already, we have brightened up the interior look with mustard tones across a sumptuous rich and velvety textured bed throw and cushions. This modern colour perfectly complements the stylish and subtle grey tones throughout the room, and is picked out again in the gorgeous spring flower spray wallpaper in grey and mustard which wraps around the original chimney breast creating a cosy feel.
