Why Norfolk is the perfect winter mini-break location

In our latest hotel blog post, we explain why Norfolk in the winter is so special! Visit Norfolk and come and see for yourself!

Have the dreary skies and wet weekday commutes got you dreaming about getting away from the city and having a UK countryside break? We may be biased, but we think that Norfolk is the perfect UK destination. Why not plan a surprise break for a loved one’s Christmas present this year?

  • another test

There’s so much to do in the winter in Norfolk. From cosy pub lunches, to bracing beach walks, and January sale shopping amongst the independent shops in the Norwich Lanes.

Our luxury hotel is perfectly positioned between Norwich and the coast in The Norfolk Broads National Park. It is only half an hour’s drive to some beautiful coastal locations including Horsey where you can view grey seal pups on the beach between October and February, as managed by the Friends of Horsey Seals organisation.

Within the Broads National Park, there are loads of great winter activities. Our rural location means it is a brilliant place for stargazing in the Broads. Bird-watching in Norfolk is ever-popular, and over winter you can see ducks, starlings and peregrines at Strumpshaw Fen. There are loads of great walking routes in the Broads too. The How Hill to St Benet's Abbey walk is particularly stunning. Get your outdoor gear on and enjoy a circular route past unspoilt countryside and calming waterways – wellies a must!

We are the perfect base for your Norfolk staycation – come back and settle in front of our open fires, and put your feet up before enjoying a delicious dinner in one of the best restaurants in Norfolk. Why not book a spa treatment too so you can head back to reality refreshed and ready to take on your 2020 goals. We are only two and a half hours drive from London, and one and a half hours drive from both Cambridge and Ipswich.

Contact the team on 01603 737 531 to book your short UK break, or visit our hotel and spa gift voucher page to view our gift package ideas.
