Norfolk-broads based luxury country house venue The Norfolk Mead in Coltishall, has retained their AA Four Star Silver Country House Hotel grading, as well as their 2 Star AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence following their annual overnight inspection. The inspection this year resulted in an increase in Merit score by the inspectors to 85%, acknowledging the friendly team, cuisine, comfortable accommodation, fabulous function suite facilities, treatment rooms, and small boat available to hire.

The Norfolk Mead has held their AA accreditations since 2013; gained their 2 Star AA Rosette in 2016, and Silver-level Country House Hotel grading in 2018.

James Holliday, Owner of The Norfolk Mead said: “We are proud to have retained our AA accreditations, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in hospitality. I would like to thank all our staff for their continued dedication.

“The AA report praises our impressive levels of hospitality, smoothly delivered by our well trained and confident team who take the time to make guests feel welcome and cared for. Our ‘elegant’ bedrooms with ’thoughtful’ accessories, and impressive, well maintained period property was also commended. We aim to deliver a home from home luxury, so feel delighted in the comments from the AA inspectors.”

Samantha Ford, Office Manager said: “It was lovely to meet the inspectors and discuss how The Norfolk Mead has evolved in the last six years since James and Anna took it over. We continue to grow, with an increase in bookings for events from corporate clients with our improved proximity to Broadland Business Park and Norwich Airport thanks to the Broadland Northway. We are also set to launch our new website in June. We are always open to residents and non-residents for tea and coffee in the lounge, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, cocktails in our bar and spa treatments."

Executive Chef Damien Woollard added “I’m delighted to congratulate the whole team - front and back of house, on retaining our 2 AA Rosettes for the restaurant at The Norfolk Mead. We work hard to develop innovative and exciting daily menus, as well as our monthly tasting evenings. The AA report praised the lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and our enjoyable dishes. We will continue to be creative, use the best, fresh local ingredients and delight our guests.”

Catherine Howard, Manager of The Norfolk Mead Treatment Rooms said: “It is lovely to be recognised as an AA Four Star Silver Country House Hotel once again. Guests and non-residents can enjoy bespoke and high quality treatments during their stay, which can also be combined with a light lunch or afternoon tea, taken in one of our comfy lounges or private walled garden. We use natural products with a personal touch to offer complete luxury and relaxation.”
