Enjoy your visit to Norfolk this summer with VisitNorwich

With many of our visitors coming to Norfolk for the first time during this staycation summer, we often get asked for recommendations of trips out and things to do locally.

There is so much variety in Norfolk to suit every age, weather and lifestyle.

We’re well situated half way between the unique and characterful city of Norwich and the beautiful and unspoilt Norfolk coastline.

Closer to home, we are on the banks of the River Bure in the stunning Norfolk Broads National Park.

Our one-stop-shop recommendation for visitor top tips is the VisitNorwich website.

VisitNorwich is the official Destination Marketing Organisation (DMO) for the Norwich area and they are a well-informed team of local and industry experts working alongside VisitBritain and VisitEngland.

Their brilliant website is full of information, and fantastic blog called ‘City of Stories’, with regular features on fun things to do in and around our fine city.

Read more on the Visit Norwich website:

Top things to see and do in Norwich: we love the Norwich Lanes for shopping in the quirky independent shops and stopping for coffee.

Hidden gems: the Plantation Gardens is a hidden oasis and well worth seeking out.

And from their blog:

Things to do this summer in Norwich: we are really looking forward to Norwich Theatre’s Interlude in August.

Things to do within half an hour of Norwich: besides the special mention for Coltishall and our very own boat hire, we love a beach walk at Winterton-on-Sea to blow the cobwebs away or maybe you’ll be lucky with a sunny day to catch some rays and go for a refreshing swim in the North Sea.

The best bars in Norwich: there are some great spots for alfresco drinking (in addition to our beautiful walled garden), and we have heard great things about the new Mysagarden for festival vibes.

The top attractions in Norfolk and Norwich: this is a great list for some more county-wide attractions including family friendly days out.

If you have been dreaming of a Norfolk mini break, give our Front of House team a call and ask about our latest availability by calling 01603 737 531 or take a look via our Hotel Room pages.
