Covid-secure: keeping up with the guidelines

In light of the ever-changing post-coronavirus landscape, please find listed here how we are staying on top of the required measures, and information about our new serving times.

As always, the safety of our guests and staff is of utmost importance. We are taking the new guidelines seriously, and adapting how we operate to keep everyone safe whilst maintaining our high standards of service and hospitality.

The ‘new normal’ at The Norfolk Mead:

Face coverings. These remain compulsory in all indoor public areas of the Hotel, Restaurant & Venue unless you have a valid exemption. If you are dining or having a drink with us, you may remove your face covering once seated. Our Treatment Rooms require you to wear face masks at all times for your spa treatment appointments. Please note, to be compliant, a face covering should safely cover the nose and mouth and fit securely round the side of the face.

As we implemented once we re-opened from lockdown in July, all our front of house staff are wearing face coverings at all times, with gloves being used for food service and in the Treatment Rooms where needed.

Table bookings. The maximum number of guests that we can accept table bookings for is six people – this includes children and is valid for both our indoor and outdoor dining tables. All six are permitted to be from different households. We are super pleased to have been very full since reopening but this does mean that, along with our slightly reduced capacity given physical distancing of tables, we do have limited availability. If you have a specific date that you would love to dine with us, please be sure to book your table with plenty of notice

Table service. In line with the guidance, as we are a licensed premises we can no longer serve drinks directly from our Bar, and will need you to have taken a seat in one of our public areas to be able to order food and drink. Unfortunately, we cannot reserve our bar and lounge seating. Ideally, please arrive in time for your table booking and we can serve you directly from there.

Track and trace. We have an NHS QR code poster set up in our main Hotel reception as well as a paper track and trace form. We require the contact details of one party member per household on check-in and arrival please. Our track and trace paperwork is provided alongside hand sanitiser and we encourage our visitors to please use the sanitiser at the same time as completing their details.

10pm curfew. Alongside other hospitality businesses, we are required to close by 10pm. With this in mind, we have adjusted our service times as follows:

- Afternoon Tea, 1pm – 4pm (and 4pm on Sundays)

- First dinner sitting, 6pm

- Last dinner sitting, 8pm

- Last orders, 945pm

For Hotel guests who are staying with us overnight, you will be able to continue to consume coffee or drinks at the end of your meal and to relax in our guest lounges after 10pm. You will also be able to order room service after 10pm – ideally via phone please.

We would like to thank all our loyal and lovely customers once again for your unwavering support during these times – we can’t do it without you! If you have any questions at all, please call the team on 01603 737 531 or email info@norfolkmead.co.uk
